Alice in wonderland soundtrackThe music soundtracks played in the movie Alice in Wonderland has been carefully examined and has meaning to the story itself. It was not just any music that can be played in the background while Alice is in danger or in the climax scenes. The soundtracks on every scene that is important to the story should also be much important for it will affect the viewers on how the people will remember the story. These are the chosen music from the Alice in Wonderland.

1. “Alice” by Avril Lavigne

“Alice” is a song written and sung by Canadian singer-writer Avril Lavigne and the chosen soundtrack to the 2010 film Alice in Wonderland. The song is a ballad and sung from the perspective of the protagonist of the film. It was produced by Butch Walker and mixed by Avril’s ex-husband Deryck Whibley. The genre of the song is both pop and rock but not pop-rock and was a moderately fast ballad. One of the critic said that the song is much darker that it represents the nightmare and differentiates dream into it.

2. “Alice’s Theme” by Danny Elfman

“Alice’s Theme” is a beautiful song that has a choir. It was used for greater effects in the film just like in the place where Alice got into the Underland that the song has really fit the scene.

3. “String Quartet Op. 1, No. 2 In E Flat: 2nd movement” by Joseph Haydn

Written by Joseph Haydn, the song greatly influenced the whole film in this drastic like melody, it sure given a wide scale in Alice in Wonderland.

7. No Need To Ask Me

8. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and was the all time favorite song for children also used in this film.

The songs above were chosen because of the different aspects of environment in the film. Like when Alice is sad, there is a right sound background for her to let her feelings flow into the viewers’ hearts. There is also a song where Alice met villains and there is a corresponding song for the scene to make the environment more like intense and more gore if needed. All songs above are in high level of music composition like the compositions of Joseph Haydn. Most songs were in like mid-century era type where the songs more like a king-queen-princess type of songs that played in a castle to let the environment be much more like in the old century. You will feel like you are in an old castle when listening to these songs except the song “Alice” which is a modern kind of genre.

Alice’s Mother: Alice.
Alice: To me a corset is like a codfish.

A review of Alice in Wonderland

Alice in WonderlandThe movie starts with Alice Kingsleigh, a nineteen year old teenager whose father was recently died and was troubled by her strange dreams. She attends to a garden party at Lord Ascot’s place where she was surprisingly given an unwanted marriage proposal. She doesn’t know what to reply to the proposal, she saw a rabbit and without thinking she ran and followed it. As the end of her running, she saw the rabbit entered into a hole and she began to follow the rabbit into that. Little she knows that she was fallen into the hole and as she was falling, some incredible and strange things happening like floating things while she is going down. After she fall, she was found in the place called Underland where she met the White Rabbit and other creatures. Tweedledum and Tweedledee argued if Alice is the “right Alice” which foretold the one who will slay the Red Queen’s Jabberwocky and restore the power of the White Queen. While they are talking, they were ambushed by the Knave of Hearts which is the personal guard of the Red Queen.

The Knave of Hearts informed the Red Queen that Alice has returned and has a threat over the throne. The Red Queen ordered all her soldiers to find Alice immediately. Alice encountered the Chesire Cat who took her to March Hare and the Hatter. While walking into the journey, Hatter told his story about how he hates the reign of the Red Queen over the land. While in the journey, Hatter saved Alice by being captured and instead he was the one being seized. Alice found Bloodhound and wishes to take Alice to the White Queen but Alice wants to save the Hatter so they journey to the Red Queen’s castle.

The Red Queen doesn’t know the identity of Alice so instead of seizing her; she invited Alice to the castle as a guest. Alice knew about the weakness of the Jabberwocky which is the Vorpal Sword which is locked into the Bandersnatch’s den. She managed to take the sword and she got friends with Bandersnatch. The Knave found her and tried to arrest her but Alice escaped and gave the sword to the White Queen. While Alice gave the sword to the White Queen, Cheshire Cat managed to saved Mad-Hatter to the execution given by the Red Queen and Hatter calls for a rebellion against the Red Queen but it was dissolved quickly. The others who managed to escape from the rebellion in the Red Queen went to the White Queen to prepare for a war battle. While Alice doesn’t know what to do, she met Absolem, the caterpillar and told her the destiny of the kingdom and she is the chosen one to kill the Jabberwocky.

When the Frabjous day arrived, the two armies were like in a chessboard-like area and they are in the formation and in the center is the Jabberwocky. The Red Queen chose her Champion, Jabberwocky and the White Queen chose Alice as her champion to fight Jabberwocky.  Alice manages to kill Jabberwocky and The White Queen banished the Red Queen to the land and gave Alice a blood of Jabberwocky which will take her back to her home.

Alice returned home, where she stands to the center of the party and told everyone that she wants to live her life on her own and not being told by other people. Lord Ascot was impressed to the courage of the young girl and decided to take Alice as her apprentice in the idea of establishing trade routes into China. The story ends with Absolem, now a butterfly on Alice’s shoulder while the trading ship goes on.

Alice in Wonderland’s most review critics were saying that Burton’s Alice in Wonderland brought fantasy movie into a whole new level. But many have said that this Alice in Wonderland is in a very different way in terms of the story plot but in the end, the twist and the crucial scenes were successfully managed.
